Interesting facts about today’s films:

  • This was Greta Garbo’s 3rd and final nomination for Best Actress.  She never won a competitive Oscar but received an Honorary Academy Award in 1954.
  • Spencer Tracy did not like his performance as Jekyll and Hyde.
  • Sydney Greenstreet made his film debut at age 61 in The Maltese Falcon and he received a Best Supporting Actor nomination.
  • Lassie was a boy named Pal.
