31 DAYS OF OSCAR: THE BEST OF THE D’S

Deliverance (1972)

Four guys get more than they bargained for during their whitewater rafting trip.  Poor Ned Beatty.

The Divorcee (1930)

Norma Shearer won the Best Actress award for her portrayal of a wife who “balanced their accounts” after her husband confesses to cheating on her with his ex-girlfriend. If all cheated-upon women could say this:

“FROM NOW ON, YOUR THE ONLY MAN IN THE WORLD THAT MY DOOR IS CLOSED TO!”

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1931)

One of the best adaptations of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic.  Frederic March tied with Wallace Beery for the Best Actor award.

Dreamgirls (2006)

The only TCM premiere during 31 Days of Oscar.
