TCM celebrates the centennial of the MGM all-american boy with 12 films.  Here are my picks for the day:

In the Good Old Summertime (1949)

Johnson and Judy Garland play pen pals and frenemies in this musical remake of The Shop Around the Corner.

Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo (1944)

Van is the pilot of one of the planes in the Doolittle Raid of WWII.  Spencer Tracy plays Doolittle.  There is one surviving member of the Doolittle Raid left-Colonel Richard E. Cole.

Battleground (1949)

Johnson leads an ensemble cast in the first significant film about WWII to be made and released after the war ended.
