SUTS DAY 13-RALPH RICHARDSON

TCM salutes Sir Ralph with 11 films, one that is a TCM premiere (it’s 1981’s Time Bandits, which features the recently deceased Kenny Baker aka R2-D2).  Here are my picks:

Things to Come (1936)

What the world may look like in 2036 after a world war starts in 1940 (they were only off by a year) until 1966.  What do you think?  We still don’t have any jetpacks!

The Heiress (1949)

Ralph repeated his role from the London stage as Olivia De Havilland’s distant father who knows that her suitor Montgomery Clift is after her money.

The Fallen Idol (1948)

MBDFAID EC001

The story of a young boy who learns the servant he idolizes is all too human.
